The Refinery is a ten-week creative incubator program designed to transform ideas into sustainable businesses. The Refinery is a learning platform made for creative people and designed to refine, develop, test and action their business ideas. SCCA is a co-founding partner of the Refinery alongside Sunshine Coast Council and Suncentral.
Fifteen local creative practitioners were selected for the program after a 2-day bootcamp in May. The 10-week program concluded with a fabulous showcase event at the Peregian Digital Hub on Friday August 2nd. The success of the program exceeded everyone’s wildest expectations.
The program partners have just announced an investment of $12,000 has been awarded to support the three leading enterprises (pictured L-R) –
Project Fort Awesome (Sam Taylor), Talk Revolution (Tasha Lawton) & Wildlings Forest School (Nicki Farrell & Vicci Oliver). The program will continue to support all 15 practitioners with access to mentors over the next 3 months as they develop their creative practices.
The Refinery initiative was supported by Advance Queensland through #SCRIPT, CQUniversity and Arts Queensland through its RADF program, and other partners include the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast, the Peregian Digital Hub and the Creative Spaces program.
