About the Speakers:

Thom Stuart
Thom Stuart is a painter whose work references a mix of botanical motifs, found marks and surface textures in both natural and artificial colour scapes, to create a language that reflects the contemporary Australian landscape. He uses a mix of traditional and urban painting approaches, as well as print-making and drawing techniques, to create meaningful work that has an inherent underlying visual beauty. His large-scale murals extend and abstract visuals uncovered in his studio practice. The references to the semi abstract scapes of natural and built environments often echo the surrounding spaces, creating a dialogue between project and place.

Ebony Busk
Ebony Busk is an emerging visual artist who has recently joined Sub Tropic as part of Sunshine Coast Council’s Creative Spaces Artist in Residence program, providing affordable space for artists to develop and showcase their work, experiment and collaborate.
